Indonesia issued a mandatory national standards for primary cells

Indonesia, November 14, 2008 issued a bulletin entitled G/TBT/N/IDN/21: Ministry of Industry on the Indonesian national mandatory standards of primary cells draft Act – Part 1: General (SNI 04-2051.1-2004); primary batteries – Part 2: Electronic and physical requirements (SNI 04-2051.2-2004) 
 
The draft decree stipulates that all domestic distribution and sales of domestic production and imports of primary cells should be consistent with SNI requirements. Therefore, the manufacturer or importer shall have the use of the product that SNI mark and comply with SNI requirements. SNI mark products that should be Indonesian National Accreditation body (KAN) accredited product certification issued by agencies through the following procedure: 1. Testing whether the quality of the original cell line with SNI requirements; 2.QMS SNI 19-9001-2001/ISO 9001-2000 and the amendment or other recognized quality management system, the implementation of the audit. Test can be subcontracted to KAN and KAN approved or signed a mutual recognition agreement (MRA) of the authorized institution accredited testing laboratories in Indonesia. Ministry of Industry, Transport and Communications Directorate is the body responsible for the implementation of this Act and for the Act to provide technical guidance, including laptop battery product certification procedures and SNI logo.
