Sanyo Electric solar cells 2008/09 profit is expected to be higher than previously forecast
Japan’s Sanyo Electric on September 23 that its 2008/09 operating profit of solar cells is expected to be greater than previously estimated, thanks in the first half thanks to booming demand.
Sanyo Electric former deputy director of the Career, 7-hong said that in September to maintain strong sales of solar cells, and the previous quarter but increased by 50%. In oil prices and climate change concerns, the demand for solar cells are growing rapidly.
Sanyo Electric was the seventh largest solar cell manufacturers, competitors including Germany’s Q-Cells, Sharp of Japan and China’s Suntech Power.
Sanyo Electric has not announced a profit of the solar cell business, but covers a whole battery of the rechargeable laptop battery business, accounting for the year 2007/08 the company’s overall operating profits in recent quarters.
